70th anniversary of end of WW2

Post by housil » Mon Mar 30, 2015 2:11 am

Last weekend I went to a local museum where they had a living history play - right on the day - of the liberation of that village.
They had running German and American WW2 vehicles like a German tank hunter tank "Hetzer" and an American 155 howitzer firing blanks

Hi Housil,

Thank you for posting, right up my street.

I take it that the "Tiger" was a "mock up"?.

Right. That "Tiger" actually was a T-34 and T-54. It was made for the movie "Stalingrad":

Also from that museum, they used that Kübelwagen for the movie:

I enjoyed the Vid and like the little Hetzer Jagerpanze. They were used by Switzerland at least until the 1960's
