MENU 5 Chicken Breast 2004

Post by Norton » Sat Sep 06, 2014 8:47 pm

I did a river camping trip yesterday, beautiful hot and super humid

Had a chance to eat a entree I have not tried before.Had a case of 2004 meals given to me and broke them down so I could mix and match. Plus some more current breakfast entrees

Cooked with the German mess pot and Esbit/Trangia combo
For Breakfast I had the Sausage Gravy/Stop sign biscuit and pears of an unknown date
They were a very filling meal, Although in the sweltering heat it may have been a better match for winter
Had the "new' French Vanilla Cappuccino and liked it. It would be good with just a fruit and nut bar as a stand alone breakfast. It seemed to fill me up with the Cappuccino alone

For supper Chicken Breast and buttered Noodles with added Jalapeno Cheese Spread, Iced tea drink mix'
The Iced Tea mix was a welcome change of pace this time of yea. It is still very hot and humid here in Virginia.
So the Tea went down quick.
The chicken was chopped and formed, seasoned with salt/pepper ans little else. The texture was similar to a McDonald's chicken sandwich
The buttered noodles tasted like standard 'Mess hall' noodles, they could have used the regular cheese pack to boost flavor. Adding the Jalapeno with noodles was not the best idea. This chicken could be combined with many different items It was a good meal and I was glad I took with me.

Thank you for your review and great outdoor pictures!
That chicken w/ buttered noodles is one of my favorite dishes, just have to add a dash of salt to the noodles usually.
