A bit of an update. There's another post on Canada's federal bid site (also viewable here if previous link doesn't work), looking for boil-in-a-pouch rations from another supplier, The Wornick Company - here's the menu for this batch:
Hash Brown and Bacon x 40,000 pouches
Scalloped Potatoes and Ham x 20,000 pouches
Chicken Pesto Pasta x 100,032 pouches
Turkey Stew x 30,016 pouches
Sloppy Joe x 60,032 pouches
Mango Peach Applesauce x 150,048 pouches
Strawberry Applesauce x 100,032 pouches
Tortillas x 110,048 pouches
Corn Bread x 40,000 pouches
Anybody have any experience with tortillas or cornbread in a pouch re: how the pouch version looks/feels/tastes?

An update: a new batch coming from Wornick, including:
- Hash Brown and Bacon 20,000 pouches
- Scalloped Potatoes and Ham 40,000 pouches
- Indian Chicken Breast 60,032 pouches
- Beef Pot Roast with Mushroom Sauce 20,000 pouches
- Chipotle Chicken Carbonara 40,000 pouches
- Blueberry Applesauce 120,032 pouches
- Applesauce 60,000 pouches
- Tortillas 40,000 pouches
- Corn Bread 160,032 pouches
Call me an optimist, but I'm thinking the tortillas may look closer to what we're used to seeing as a tortilla than the facsimiles of "bread in a pouch" I've seen.

MRE Tortillas are a waste of space.
Crumbly, greasy tasting, hard to use (very messy)

Now, Pita bread, that would be much better!

I want. How can I obtain Canadian poutine rations without moving north and joining up? I think I am too old for that anyway.
