Canadian IMP Supper Menu 2 - Salisbury Steak

Peaches boil in the foil, complete with warning that fruit should not be boiled even though the directions say to:


The carrots and potato slices were soft and flavourful:


The steak was very salty, but tender and juicy. There was no need for the steak sauce:


The unboiled peaches, fresh and sweet with good colour and smell:


Accessories included rancid Ritz crackers. They smelled alright but no way could I swallow the 1st bite. Once again there was raspberry jam included but nothing to put it on/in. The KitKat Chunky was still fresh, not even whitening around the edges.


All in all, this ration was quite satisfying. I'll keep it in my regular camping rotation to be sure.

I like the Canadias IMPs, they are a nice variety to the MREs.

Yep, I've got quite a few of those bread servings from other IMPs and they're superior IMO to the MRE type Wheat Snack Bread. Just odd coincidence that the two IMPs I chose to review so far here both came with jam but no bread.

The Canadian bread has so far been the worst I've ever tried. I've had IMPs from probably 6 or 7 sources and so far the bread has always tasted like a chemical sponge. In all cases, the meals were totally fine and tasted great, but the bread tasted like it soaked up some horrible flavors. It's hard to describe exactly, but it seemed to have a nasty bite to it and the smell of burning plastic. There was never anything wrong with the packaging or the appearance of the bread itself that would indicate a problem.

Did you guy´s warm the bread? That odd taste is usually only when eaten "cold".
