Hi guys,
I'm not going to do a full review of the ration pack as Hair-FIN has just done a mega review of the menu 10 pack here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5051 . I'll just concentrate on the main meals as the rest of the pack is identical to the menu 10 covered in Hair-FIN's review.
Okay, so this pack consists of the "all day breakfast", lamb naverin (basically lamb stew) and the dreaded lemon sponge cake.
First a pick of the unpacked ration:
Pack was in good condition, no spoiling or leakage. All the biscuits and chocolate were great. Fresh tasting and good to eat.
First up was the "All day breakfast". I heated up all my meals including the all day breakfast. It was the same breakfast from Hair-FIN's pack but mine tasted really good. Just added a bit of salt and it was great. I must admit I didn't taste the egg at all, just the sausages and beans. I really liked it though.
The next meal was the Lamb Naverin (a.k.a. the lamb stew). Again this was really good. Would have been better with some rice but still really good on its own. Real pieces of lamb, good flavour without being too spicy. Also not too fatty. Would recommend this meal.
Last of the meals was the lemon sponge pudding. In mind I pictured this a being like an MRE lemon pound cake with sauce. In reality what I got was a piece of too sweet tasting gunk that had more in common with the consistency of silicon glue. It really tasted the way it looks, which is shit. I'll not eat this one again. Its really nasty, don't bother.
So that's it for this review. THe only let down was the pudding but the rest was all good. See you next review.
Cheers

noooo!
It's not a cake, it's a pudding - they are meant to be like that.
(cakes are baked - puddings are steamed. Puddings are thick and gooey, it's a British thing!)
