That SF-labeling is just for "solide fibre" for the card board box

And I can tell you from personal experience that the Menu C case of "SF" MREs had a lot less food in them than the legit MREs which shoots down the ebay seller's claim that the "SF" MREs are heavier and have more food.

One would think that "Special Forces" MREs (FSR, maybe?) would be lighter, not heavier than regular MREs.

But what do I know?

Hi Housil,

yep, I've seen that one too. "Out of this world"
I think he got inspired by some auctions a little while ago, where a case of MCW's sold for € 248 and a Case of FSR's for almost the same amount of money on Ebay Germany.
It's nuts

Welcome Unimproved! Yeah that's terrible. I just recently bought an entire sealed case of FSRs for $150 (shipping included) - so roughly a few dollars over that guy's Buy-it-Now price for one ration. Granted that's more expensive than a case of MREs, but $30 each for an FSR is pretty normal on US eBay so my case was a good deal cheaper than that overall. Plus I needed the box

Due to the tornadoes here in OK I was able to get 2 MRE cases and 1 full case of Heater meals.
Except for the heater meals that were up to date, the MRE cases were NOS made in 2010 Menu B. I was able to open one of the meals ( Beef Enchiladas) and they tasted ok.
So if you see a surge of MRE cases and Heater Meals on Ebay probably they are part of the tornado relief.

Actually thats what they run on this side of the pond, if you can even find any over here.

Not many are made per year and most are eaten by troops as far as i can tell.

Thats why i have only tried one :(
