Great review thanks for posting.

So these are one meal like MRE's it looks like, any idea how many different menus are available?

("tightening " is to secure something, if a bolt is loose on your car you "tighten" it so it doesn't fall out, turn the bolt right for tight, left for loose )

I have a odd of 6 numbered 1-9 (highest) - maybe Andrius_LT can help, and yes, they`re are similar to the MRE - U will need 3 for a day...

btw - I know what "tighten" mean - I wonder about this item in a ration....

Oh i see
The bottom left of one of your images has a green pack of something with what looks like a rubber band around it.

I assumed is was a rubber band to close the leftovers back up.

It`s not a rubber - we call them cable ties or cable fixer! But this one is very small sized..

Here are menus for Lithuanian rations:
kariuomene.kam.lt/download/12443/discri ... ations.pdf
Our ratios have only ~2 years warranty because of small amount preservative chemicals in it. Crackers are Polish, other food is Lithuanian and in my opinion quite tasty :). I should mention that Latvian army also use our rations. Also I've noticed that this year rations also comes with plastic spoon. If You have questions about Lithuanian MRE's don't hesitate to ask ;)

Welcome to the forums Fusilier! Thanks for providing that pdf and the shelf life info. Got a quick question - menu IX says it contains grits. Does it actually have hominy grits - a white porridge-like food made from ground corn? Most folks that don't live in the Southern US don't seem to have ever even heard of grits so it's odd to see them in a Lithuanian ration for sure!

In my opinion it's a translation mistake, it should be called "Groat", not "Grits". In fact it's a kind of stewed meat with all kind of grains and sauce

Thanks for the clarification - that definitely makes more sense. The menu pdf seems like a pretty good translation overall, but there can always be mistakes.
