Tomorrow I think I'll put up a picture of how the CFP-90 looks with ILBE straps and a belt.

I'm still in the process of attaching them, but I have pretty much everything I need to do it, except the experience and know how.

FDSman,

Did you get the CFP-90 pack hybrid put together? I have not been able to get any pictures of my FLPIF (CFP-90) VECTOR prototype pack up just yet and my CFP-90 woodland pack is still being worked on. When I do I'll post them here for comparison.

yes its my pictures.

treesuit:the green cfp-90 you gott is the first regular issue ruck.
realy hard to comeby 8)

these rucks was normaly used by the us marines recon and us army rangers and special forces.
some regular us army units did also use it for sometime, before the army decied
it to be to big and bulky for regular forces to use.
regular units do have supply close in hand by trucks and so on,and recon, rangers
do operate in enemy erea and are further from supply and have to pack the most they can.

there are many look alike rucks out ther so be careful not to buy copies.
they are not good, thin nylon, bad zippers, locks and so on.

cheers ken

Norge,
Yes, I do have the OD vector pack along with some rather cool info I picked up from US militaria forms. Somebody posted some product information about Lowe Alpine and the vector rucksack line. I was so lucky to find some info on there before I bought that prototype on bay. I also have a more modern CFP-90 rucksack that is being repaired as we speak. Both rucksack and patrol pack are dated 2004 but both are made by a different manufacture (speciality defense systems, SDS). The same people who designed and made the MOLLE line. The OD vector pack has no identification tags in it or any logos, but it is in near perfect condition

Good to hear that all my care packages made it to you, and did not get confiscated or seized by customs. I should have more for you in the future if your "bunker" can hold more? :D

To all,

Here is a great item on ebay right now. It looks like someone is offereing an orignal FPLIF (CFP-90) with 1st run TLBV-88. For the asking price it is not a bad deal. This is a really great, first run combo set.

It looks like that one has suffered the ducks foot and elastomer track wear and tear problem :(.

As for my hybrid pack, I have not yet put it together. I'm not sure if I posted this or not but I purchased some 2.5" wide velcro and plan on sewing the hook side to the ILBE straps, and the pile side where the track currently is.

Treesuit, if you need a new track and the old shoulder straps, as well as the aluminum plate that pinches them together, send me a PM and we can work something out.

FDSman,

Okay, sounds like it will hold up. I'm eyeing that ebay auction closely. The price is okay and repairing the main pack would not be hard. My FPLIF pack is still be repaired over at Tactical Tailor.

As for parts; sure, if I do get that set I'll PM you for details.

FDSman,

I did put a bid on that early LBV-88 set on ebay but got outbid by a sniper at the last minute. Still went for a good price considering it was used. Now I'll keep my eyes open for more stuff.

Last week I was doing some thinking, that there are some transitional FPLIF to MOLLE stuff floating around there that I have seen. In your research over at US militaria forums did you see any other posts about TLBV-88 to MOLLE stuff.

I seem to remember somebody over there saying there was a transitional Medic vest. A hybrid of sorts.... :? Or a ALICE to MOLLE version....

Does anybody have any information on this type of bag? Seems like it is a CFP-90 (FLPIF) spin off of some sort. I bought one on ebay for $25.00 brand new just to check it out and see if it comes close to a CFP-90. So if anybody has any information please let me know. Thanks
