BCB`s Patrol Ration Pack
Re: New British Special Forces 24 hour Patrol Ration Pack
i have nt seen mint cake is rations for year. it was supplied in artic packs as standard, then was in gp rations in the late 90s, and as to chocolate it hasnt been in a british ration for about 2 years ,having said that i got part of a 10 man orp last week and it still had chocolate in it (it was the italian sounding stuff not the duncans or the yorkie bars)and the orp was dated this year (10 feb 2012)
Re: New British Special Forces 24 hour Patrol Ration Pack
I've had those rations bookmarked on my ebay page for awhile and I've thought about getting one for backpacking, but alas the shipping is a big problem to the US. I like the idea of breaking down or segregating the different portions so you know what to look for in your rucksack. I am curious to know if the main pouches have recloseable seals on them, so you can take out what you need and save the rest for later?

Re: New British Special Forces 24 hour Patrol Ration Pack
Thanks for reply sodjer! I was curious whatever happened to those. As I mentioned, I'd really love to get some UK 24-hour rationpacks but not sure the best source and not sure about ebay.

Yes, there are the Kendall mint cakes in - something I should know about?rationtin440 wrote:Great pics and I'd love to get a couple British 24 hour ration packs. That being said, I'm curious about a couple things; first of all, are the kendall mint cakes any longer issued in these or any other UK rations, and second, have the manufacturers of the rations had the same or similar issues with chocolate bars designed for multi-climate as we have had here with the desert bars (mainly digestive problems with the troops)? Thanks!

Short Update:
As I stay in contact to BCB, I have reached out so far:
The CP061 (code for this Ration Pack) has only on-the-go items in it - beside the drinks, which you can fill in your bottle while a short break - so everything is eatable on the go.
Here is the reply of BCB:
"Yes the CP061 did used to have freezed dried food in its contents but we discontinued the meals, this kit no longer has the freezed dried food included.
We do also have item CP061A - PATROL RATION WITH WET MEALS available. The meals are a Lancashire Hot Pot and an All Day Breakfast Pouch Meals."
So I try to get the CP061A if it is the same plus the wet meals...(no exchanges made)
...and if the price per ration will not raise to much!
keep you informed on that,

Re: BCB`s Patrol Ration Pack
rationtin440, Ebay seems to be the best bet for the UK 24 hour ration packs awhile back I found this seller had a bunch (also the Multiclimate rations) on Ebay UK; militariamad1944 . You could try and contact him he had really great shipping prices. Also you can contact the sellers directly on the Ebay UK website with your Ebay.com login.
Sodjer, you could try and bring them but they use animals to sniff out food now at port of entry's. Its all up to the luck of the draw...

Re: BCB`s Patrol Ration Pack
hi cavguy ,are you saying its illegal to bring food in ,but it ok to import

Re: BCB`s Patrol Ration Pack
Technically speaking its certain items that are prohibited from entry IE: Nuts, Meat, etc.. Illegal is a strong word not sure if I would use that, Customs will confiscate and destroy this type of food if discovered though. They ask you to declare all food items you are bringing on your person if you declare it they will search you and determine if you can bring it into the US.

Re: BCB`s Patrol Ration Pack
Thanks so much for the info and offers, cavguy, sodjer and everyone else. Unfortunately, some of our laws are pretty ridiculous over here but if you can do it legally sodjer, I'd be interested. When you get here if you want to, let me know thru forum and we can discuss it thru pm---just don't want to see you in any legal trouble.
