Oh, great! ANOTHER ration to be on the lookout for.
According the Spanish Army officials, certain units of the Ejército de Tierra are evaluating a new, experimental ration, the "Ración individual de combate ligera, 24 horas."
The new ration is a lightweight ration with dehydrated and freeze-dried components, intended for High Mountain troops and (probably) LRRPs. Also included are 55 grams of fortified hard crackers, applesauce, chocolate with granola, cleansing towelette, fuel tablets, disposable ration heater, matches, and water purification tablets.
The main meal items are commercially marketed under the "Voyager" name brand and include such entrees as: salmon w/pasta & vegetables, Pasta Bolognese, and ham omelette.
The new rations are a joint effort between the Ministry of Defense and several civilian food-preparation companies.
No decision has yet been announced as to when - of if - the new ration will be fielded.

"I think," said Christopher Robin, "that we ought to eat all our Provisions now, so that we shan't have so much to carry."
