People in Emergency Management usually come from the emergency services industry -- fire, police, EMS, etc. -- but they could also have backgrounds in corporate security, environmental health & safety, business or public administration, or other field as it relates to their emergency management specialty.

Since 9/11, the field has grown and there has also been quite an expansion in the number of college certificate and degree programs offered in emergency management and homeland security.

Sometimes it helps if you've had experience picking up after them

I Have Been Told That Being Able to swim in putrid water
while carrying a box of mre's is helpful in obtaining employment
in that field. Also You Must be a registered republican!

German Hartkeks (cookies)

Can be used for almost everything. Even eating. They are flammable and hard as iron (use it as armor, works pretty well)...

German Canned Bread

Everlasting rye pellet bread. A little dry, but tastes well. Tryed some from 1972. They were good.
Living on earth is expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun every year...

Wow, if only you had some 34 year old cheese spread to put on that 34 year old bread!
