Preparedness

I'm curious about the survivalist and preparedness attitude and climate of the governments and general public in the countries where our members come from. I do realize that for our UK members, the firearms laws there make it difficult for that aspect of preparedness, but I'm curious as to the general attitudes of the public in other countries towards preparedness and the laws governing "stocking up" and "survival training." Here in the U.S., many citizens have also formed militia groups which are about 99.8% law-abiding and patriots.

Here in Bozeman, Montana prepping for disaster is normal, but when I lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania just about anyone that eventually learned of my bug out room thought I was a lunatic. I buy a gun or two each year to add to the overall arsenal and still am a lightweight compared to some of my neighbors and folks I meet out at the range (we've got several free-access ranges just outside of town, two lead-only/pistol-only ranges in town and a really nice 24/7/365 range about 25 minutes away - always meeting new folks)

Thanks for reply Ruleryak! I'd love to move to Montana but not sure how job situation is there---I work in injection molding mainly. Also what are the gun laws like there? I used to talk to John Trochman from M.O.M. regularly but we've lost touch over the past 5 years.
