I recently received a full, sealed case of the LRP rations that are no longer produced. The case has two of each menu, and I'm selling one each of the extra menus, except number 6 (sorry, Spaghetti is my favorite.) Each packet was intended to feed one soldier for one full day during initial assault, special operations, and long range reconnaissance missions.
Case was packed in December of 1998 and has an inspection date of December of 2008. The main meals are freeze-dried and most other items are dry packed both to save weight and increase shelf-life. I ate one of the Spaghettis last week and it was very good, but due to their age I won't guarantee any of the other sealed meals I'm selling. FWIW, the packets look fine from the outside with no signs of being compromised.
