NBC protection for rations

Post by rationtin440 » Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:13 pm

Not sure what subject this should go under, so thought I'd post it "off topic." It has been rumored that MREs and other rations were/are packaged with some intent of providing a bit of shielding for the internal food pouches/boxes against radioactive fallout, chemical agent vapors, and aerosolized biological agents. I'm curious if anyone knows what, if any, protection/shielding was or is incorporated in the packaging of German, French, British, and other modern rations discussed in the forums and described elsewhere on the mreinfo website. Thanks. A bit of history, some ww2 d-ration bars were packaged in a protective outer wrap designed to block penetration of mustard vapors.

Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

Haha it's an old saying on the base;

"Your never to old to learn. After a while you can even learn the same thing again and again"
