Better taste better than Moms!
I remember a tv commercial back in the day where the guy used to yell at the camera about his low prices and how everyone thought it was 'insane'!
My, how times have changed!

The poster of that MRE on ebay should be shot... Between the cost of the MRE and the shipping, you are close to the cost of a case at a gun show...

Ha...memories....you're not kidding logday.....remember how simpler things used to be back then!!! As for Crazy Eddie...i think his problems had something to do with Isreal. Can't quite remember exactly.....my memories are becoming a bit hazy as time goes by.

Hey Rich... 'simpler days'? Boy do I ever!
You could throw a .12ga and 30-06 in the back window of the pick-up and they didn't call out the National Guard!
Heck, at my high school we used bring our bows and arrows in during deer season. You just had to lock the bow in your locker. Showing up in your best camo didn't cause a local panic. And the shop teacher would happily grind a new edge on a worn or chipped hatchet! Your Buck model 110 or 112 was still considered a 'tool' and not a 'weapon of mass destruction'!
Kato and Kojak kicked ass. Grasshopper taught us right from wrong. Mr. Kotter showed us that even mis-guided 'yutes' will get it right with a little effort and Archie Bunker - when he wasn't on the 'tur-let' - said the things on all our minds, and we laughed!
Lastly, men were men and women were proud of it!
Might have to google that 'crazy eddie' debacle. Thanks to you as well for the support on my protein rant.
All the best.... Tim

I have to agree but how about save the bullet? That can't be more than $.50...hannonmc wrote:The poster of that MRE on ebay should be shot... Between the cost of the MRE and the shipping, you are close to the cost of a case at a gun show...

Re: Better taste better than Moms!
The seller just has no idea what he's doing in general. Look at his other items and you'll notice he only seems to be able to think up 3 or 4 different prices for everything he sells and just assumes that $25 or $30 is a good starting point for whatever he happens to find. I'm sure you can find some great deals thanks to his complete disregard for market research but most of what he sells will never draw a bid due to the overall laziness. I looked up completed auctions for him and he barely ever sells anything at all even though he has hundreds of auctions going. What does sell goes as a best offer so I guess he just assumes people will haggle so he always starts high. Guess it works for some things but no one's going to buy that MRE or offer him enough that he'll bite I guarantee it, hehe.

Re: Better taste better than Moms!
Hey Ruleryak,
I hear ya! Ive been checking ebay almost daily for s*#ts and giggles and the prices being asked for a case of MRE's is just crazy. Ive seen cases in the $85 to $150 range.
Or individual meals starting at $10. A lot of the time the prices don't even include the shipping! Ive seen those prices range from about $15 for 'economy' up to nearly $40. I just flat-out refuse to pay anywhere near that much.
I would rather look around the forum here and see who has individual components and in what quantity that I might be interested in. If those individual bits and pieces are scrounged free-of-charge from the dumpsters after a FTX thats okay with me.
I would much rather give a forum member here my money.
But I still check ebay and pick some things up if its worth it.

Re: Better taste better than Moms!
While the current demand for both categories of MREs is possibly at a cyclical low...I would advise any 'non' collector or those researching MREs as a viable emergency food source to possibly expect a value approaching these prices in the future.
There are a number of 'good deals' out there at the present time just ahead of inevitable price increases and following long documented shortages in some MRE configurations...yet there are many who still believe that prices will hold and that availability will most likely be as it has been for so many years previously.
