Its only in the past couple of years (if that) that Ghurkha ex- servicemen have been officially permitted to bring families and dependents to live in the UK, and only after a hard fought political campaign fronted by a well known English actress whose father was a highly decorated English Ghurkha rifles and Chindit officer
Yet at the same time we allow tens of thousands of "asylum seekers" into the UK per year, not a few of whom have been subsequently found to have gone "holidaying" in Afghanistan fighting for the Taliban... :|

They say that a man with nothing to lose, is a very dangerous man indeed. In fact, being a gurkha, makes that statement very true. There was another unpublished interview with this troop, and he was asked if he was worried once he knew he was alone and surrounded by 30+ taliban. He replied that he was not worried at all, as they had not yet called in for reinforcements! Indeed, 30 taliban vs. 1 Gurkha....so unfair to the taliban, and yet so deserved. May God bless this warrior, and his family. I hope the UK gov't. reconsiders the award of the CGC, and give this man a VC, as he rightfully deserves.
