There are 10X24 Hr. rat-packs per case, $50.00 per case is IMHO, a VERY good price....
I have asked him to tell me how many cases he has.
I could ask him WHY he will not ship to the USA.....
Do I get a finder's fee ?
Halger,
What he explained to me was that customs had tightened down restrictions on shipping rations ( he said both Brit and Canadian) into the U.S.. Now, whether it was U.S. Customs or Canadian, he did not say. I told him I got some from a fellow near Quebec last fall without a problem. He said this was a "recent" restriction. And, if there's any finder's fee to be gotten here, it should be mine. After all, I started this whole mess.
Alright, he says he has 6 cases left - mixed variety in each. I'll probably take 2 for myself and 1 for another local person. So what do you guys think, will we be able to send them into the states somehow? I could try re-boxing them and "creatively labelling" the customs form. And there's 10 to a case so i'd say it's a good deal!
I'll calculate the shipping when i find out the exact weight of a case, just seeing if he'll drop them off at a depot for one of our local trucking companies = cheap shipping to here!
I just checked the Canadian Post web site and as near as I can tell, it would cost about CAD$75 to ship a 22kg box from Calgary to NC, USA, via Expedited Parcel. That's about US$65 which I guess isn't so bad.
Of course, you might know a cheaper way to ship it and if so, I'm all ears.

Dermeister,
The ones I got from Quebec were labelled as "dehydrated camping meals". As I said, they came though both U.S. and Canadian customs without any problems. I hope that helps.

kman,
Did it offer an option for surface mail?? I don't care how long it takes to get them as long as I do get them. I'd prefer not to have to ransom any body parts to afford the postage if I can help it.
What they offered was parcel post (surface) shipping. I was looking for something cheaper sounding than "expedited parcel post" but that wasn't an option. Hopefully someone more familiary with the Canadian Postal system will know if that's possible.
