Brit rations on Canadian Gun Nutz

Post by Lifesaver » Tue Jan 31, 2006 9:40 pm

I found a fellow on the Canadian Gun Nutz board selling cases of Brit rations. He will not sell to me, though. He states he cannot ship them to the U.S. due to customs regulations. At $50/ case ( and you can mix menues in the case), I wish there was a way around this. Are there any Canadians here that know a way to get past this?

Here is the link: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/sh ... hp?t=55714

I'm not sure if you have to register there to be able to read this.

I'd sure like to find a way to get these.

Is that posting in the equipment exchange forums? I just registered for the site but I don't have any access to those forums. What's up with that?

Maybe one way around the shipping restriction is to get someone in Canada to buy them for you and then have that person ship them to you. Might add some extra shipping but could be worth it.

Nevermind that comment about not being to read the equipment exchange forum - I found the part that said "click here to get access". We'll see if I get "approved".

kman, I was thinking the same thing you were. Sadly, I don't know anyone in Canada to send the funds to for the purchase.

We have a number of Canadians registered on the board. I just took a quick look at the memberlist (click the link at the top of the screen) and from the frequent/recent posters, I recognize: dermeister025 and Halger280HVMag. I also know Mirage is from Canada but I haven't heard from him in ages.

Also, maybe try a posting in the General forum - something along the lines of "Calling all Canadians!". Maybe someone will see that message.

And speaking of the memberlist, I just noticed we had someone join in October, 2005 with the name Sheep. He says he's from Mullins, SC, which as you all know is the home of Sopakco. And sure enough, he lists his email address as @sopakco.com. But he hasn't posted yet. Welcome Sheep! Now stop lurking and say hi! :-)

Hey guys, i've actually been PM'ing the guy to see how many rations he has available and which menus. I only live about 3 hours to his southwest so shipping by bus won't be too expensive or if i get enough maybe i could drive up to Calgary and pick them up! Anyway i'll let you know when i hear back from him and we'll see what we can do!

Hi dermeister025. I'd be interested in a case, too, if he has any extras and if you're will to help us with the shipping!

Dermeister205,

Thanks so much for taking an interest in this. I was all set to buy a case from him until he told me he would not ship it to me. BTW, how many Brit rations to a case? At $50/case, anything more than 6 sounds like a good price per ration to me. In any case, if you can work something out with him, I would definitely like one case. Thanks again for your assistance.

Sorry guys, I'm a little to far away from the seller to pick-up the cases for re-shipping ..... :(

There are 10X24 Hr. rat-packs per case, $50.00 per case is IMHO, a VERY good price....

I have asked him to tell me how many cases he has.

I could ask him WHY he will not ship to the USA.....

Do I get a finder's fee ?

I've heard of people in Canada having problems shipping rations to the US. I think it all depends on which Customs inspector you get. Just make sure to tell them there's no beef in any of the rations and you should be ok. :-) (just kidding about that part, I don't really know)
