Oy my!! I do not believe I am sharing this one with you all. I know one of you will outbid me; but, it is just too cool not too share. Starting bid is reasonable as is the postage.

Yeah, $20 total for a single HDR. They're going to do well with that auction.

As for that Russian ration, I wouldn't be surprised to see that one sell - I've seen some crazy prices for those thing. I think one guy was trying to sell one for $50 or so last year. For a single ration.

And that French ration...dang...just buying it and shipping it to us would set you back about US$40 - I can only imagine how much it would be to the US.

I always love reading the descriptions on those Russian rations.

"Ration"

or something else just as descriptive.

Hey, that Italian ration? A shot of whiskey? For THREE DAYS? Man, I need a shot per day to keep me goin'! :)

Hey, what's wrong with an HDR? It's a whole day's worth of food...if you're a starving Iraqi.

There's another HDR offered by "oletroop" (a.k.a. David Bates). He bought a case of them from a guy in Texas.

I also bought a case from the same guy and had to make several phone calls to get them to ship it. After I put negative feedback on that seller, he retaliated and -- rather than respond to my note (which is what you're supposed to do) -- he put negative feedback on me, citing that I was unsympathetic to their hurricane damage situation. Whoa! I talked to them four times and never heard a word about dealing with hurricane damage.

Damn amateurs!

That's good to hear. I was afraid you might be "oletroop". I don't keep a close eye on many users on ebay, but a couple always seem to pop up - and besides CAJUN CLARA, I recall seeing oletroop a lot - and not in a good way. It seems like he's always selling things for really high prices - like TOTMs for $10 each or something like that.

CaptBob - what's been your experience with oletroop?

It's just one of the names I see from time to time.

When he listed the single MRE, I wondered if he was one of the people who bought a case from that guy in TX. So, I looked up his feedback listings and sure enough, he was. That guy in TX sold about four or five cases that must've come from the hurricane relief supplies. I bought one and will probably open it up and sell off a few singles later.

That's the key: when no one else is selling them!

Well i guess you can talk to 2 different people and get 2 different answers
Personally..I dont buy directly on ebay
I'd Rather Contac the seller for direct buy
Even Better if they have a Legitimate Web Store
Either way Ebay offers a Contac point Between buyers and Sellers
I Judge Them as To How well They Represent Themselves!
Willing to Swap Phone Numbers..this n that
So On...

Right ur Wrong..
Well..thats the way i use eBaY :)

Product was fine. They called 'em "MREs", of course.

I had the seller's wife on the phone and told her I had waited two weeks with no communication and the case still had not been shipped. She yelled to her husband, "HIRAM!! GIT THAT CASE OF MREs DOWN TO THE UPS!!" She told me that he had not got around to shipping it "because he was working". [Oh yeah - that's a good excuse!]

I thanked her for cracking the whip. The case arrived a few days later.

Sometimes, eBay presents some challenges.
