Yesterday, at Constanta postal/custom office, they didn't allow any parcel to the United States weighting more than 1 lb. I think is banned... Norge is lucky, his parcel is 1.6 kg, according to the receipt :D

I hope it isn't that much of a problem.. I have some stuff going to treesuit (norwegians rats and some freezedrieds.. all no meat and/or dairy stuff..)

The parcel is 3.36 kg (7.4 lb) and has already been delayed (it was shipped at 2. December, accepted at 3. December...... and it still didn't leave the Netherlands (?!) .... drama story.

The TNT postal services are also on strike (our postal service..) but parcels are not really effected.. mostly the normal envelope sized mail. And I shipped it along with Norge's parcel, and he received it a couple of days ago. Quite strange, but mail to Norways goes over sea, and to the US it's airmail.

The description is camping supplies (freezedried, non dairy, vegetarian), chocolate... That might be tricky for customs (but everything is perfectly legal)... but that's not the case at the moment, because the parcel isn't even into foreign customs yet, it hasn't even left the Netherlands.
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

To me, you answered yourself with you question

"...it´s airmail..."

I never send via airmail to USA/Canada anymore. The last parcel I got from the States took just one week - non-airmail!
Also my parcel from Germany to Canada took less than two weeks.
I brought my current parcel to the post office at Dec. 6th and it left Germany at Dec. 9th
All non-airmail :!:
I guess "they" are still scared from their "toner-parcels", that delays delivering times :(

A toner sized bomb might bring down a plane.. but it's possible to buy the ingredients for a potential big boom in all US wallmarts, ironware stores, agricultural/gardencenters etc..
You can even relatively easily make dirty chemical bombs (chlorine gas) etc.. So it's just some hypocrite stuff, and it's just fake security to make people feel safer.

But in reality.. they can't seal all those miles of border, airfields etc.. it's just a big bunch of gaps. There is no way on earth that you can offer 100% security, especially not if you can get the ingredients in the country you are trying to protect.

It's just to bad that we're all screwed, because everyone has the problems.

Body scanners? I don't mind as long as it's quick. I've got nothing to hide and I've got nothing to be ashamed about. It's not a full cavity search or something.
Explosive/drug dogs? No problem, same story. I've got nothing to hide.
Visum? Passport microship? Fingerprints? No problem. Again.. the same story.

Postal regulations? Max amount of fluids.. in a sealed pouch? Extreme export bans on everything that is "tactical" or weapon related?
That's just a big pile of democrat crap, only making things more difficult, expensive and annoying..
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

Just an update for all the US customers. As of January 2 the USPS mail rates went up. It wasn't really dramatic but I did notice it when I shipped out soem ebay auctions for the past week. I think on average USPS Priority flat rate mail went up $0.25 - $0.50 and overseas shipping went up just a bit not much to make all of you guys over across the big pond moan and groan.

Funny how a year ago the USPS was whining that if they didn't get a bail out from the gov't like everyone else or dramtically raise their rates the Postal Service was going to go broke. Seems that story went away real quick for some reason...
