There might have been a tiny hole in the package that let some air and moisture in?

They should put safe dehumidifiers in ration boxes and MRE bags. Just in case.

The Dutch rats have some salmon meals aswell. You can have those though... I don't like them fish!
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

I had a Canadian salmon IMP - that was real delicious!

The Norwegian "Royal Thai" freezedried ration is a fish dish too. I would pay in a restauran for eating this

Hi,
the French "Commando" freeze dried rations have a "fish and rice" and "fish an mash" menu, not bad but very ...fishy flavour (...reminds me of a unclean red headed girlfriend I had when I was 17 ...oops, sorry! ).

You're right Bypah, the French onion soup is always served with fried bread "croutons" and grated Swiss cheese that melts on the bread hummmmmmm :P
I never had any bouillabaise! I've always heard a good REAL bouillabaisse can only be eaten in a few bistros and restaurants in Marseille on the Mediterranean coast. Even the canned bouillabaisse made in Marseille is not the real stuff if not eaten in Marseille!

I had one in Saint Tropez. We´ve been there every year for summer vacation with the whole family (all uncles, aunts, cusines etc.)
My dad is a "master degree chef" and he made it from local fish and clams.

that's the secret! The Marseillais cooks only use some local fish species, the uglier the fish, the better the soup  That's because those ugly or/and tiny fish didn't sell well on the market and the fishermen used to sell them very cheap to the harbor restaurants or give them to their wifes for soup.
