I've just received this book yesterday and and I thought it would be of interest to some of you on the forum.
It is for the collector of ration-related Wehrmacht items, but also goes into detail about logistics. Almost every page has color photos or period black and white. Big book (288 pages).
The publisher (Schiffer Military History) has the suggested retail price listed as $79.99 and I've seen some vendors using that price. I got mine from Amazon.com for $50.39, including shipping.
Some of the artifacts pictured in the book were ground dug by relic hunters in Eastern Europe. Those cheese tubes, maybe.
I think you guys in Europe will recognize most of the brand names of the Wehrmacht food items. Except for Fanta and Knorr and a couple others, most are new to me.
I definitely *MUST* have this book!! What a great find

Thanks for the link. I haven't been on the board much and missed that post.
There's a chapter on special and emergency rations in the book. The Scho-Ka-Kola was a component in several of them, including the "Paratroop Ration", the "Special Mountain Ration", and the "Patrol Ration".
