WANTED Australian

Post by ashleypgphoto » Wed Jul 28, 2010 11:50 am

I'm looking for anyone selling Australian CR1Ms or PR1Ms. Is there anyone on here who has some they can sell me (shipping would be to Paris), or any leads they could provide so I could find some?

They're for a story about rations of ISAF in Afghanistan for a major US Newspaper.

Sincerely,
Ash

I should have said, if you have CR1Ms, I'm looking for:

Menu D, Beef BBQ, Chicken BBQ
Menu H, Baked Beans, Vegetable Curry
or as a third choice,
Menu G
Chilli Con Carne
Lamb with Rosemary.

Thanks!

I'm happy to have them shipped to Paris, France, or New York City. either place. I imagine if they're packed with something like "Used Childrens 'Learning to cook' plastic toy set" they *might* get through. fingers crossed.

Even with that on it they go through the Xray machine
Else columbia would be the greatest " Wheatflour for children's cooking lessons" exporter..

There are loads of stuff that aren't allowed to be shipped due to decease control. Especially meat and dairy products are a no-go, and get cought most of the times. If you can find US sellers, even when they are more expensive, it's much better to buy from them. Because there is a large chance that you will lose your parcel and shippingcosts.

They do enter the US once in a while, like other rations. But they are mostly in the hands of collectors.
Are you planning to test all the rations, or are you only going to photograph the contents?

If it's the second option, more people will be able to help you, and you can find all the information on the contents there.
And if you really want to own the items, you can try eBay.de .. the german eBay. They have a huge variety on european rations, aswell as all other " coalition" rations. Though, a lot of countries, like the Netherlands, Romania etc, use US MREs on their " field trips" in Afghanistan. Because they are easier to use (they contain a spoon, and are selfheating) and have more variety. Native rations are being used, like the Dutch LAV (Lange Afstand Verkenning - Long Range Recon) and the unofficial LAV-W (The new Desert version of the LAV, still called LAV, but contains some extra items against dehydration, is lightly laxative (Added food fibers to prevend constipation) and has other packaging).. The W isn't on the ration, but stands for " woestijn" -> Desert in Dutch.

They also used the German EPa light occaisionally, but mostly the US MRE.
As far as I know they don't use regular Dutch rations in Afghanistan, except at the forward bases where they have time to prepare it properly.

Most German sellers on eBay speak german, and if not, there are a bunch of people here that speak German.
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

I´m browsing thru ebay daily. I saw Australien Rations maybe just two or three times within the last couple of years at ebay Germany.

Please don´t call it "EPa light". It´s EPa leicht You are right that "leicht" ist translated "light", but EPa light was the name of some military store own brand of (home made) outdoor rations
