Today I read an article, about Afghans sell US gear and equipemt at "Bush-Market", named after the former President Bush. During the Russian invasion, they had a "Breschenew-Market" too
Nobody want´s to answer where they got it nor can take care about.
, Those pictures are so funny. We had stores like that in Iraq and Kuwait when I was there last and the Arabs had everything for sale for the GI's. Seeing some of that stuff was like "Really! Somebody would pay for that after market made in China crap?" Course the pictures of the MRE's and UGR's are kind of strange...like "were did they get those?"
lot of the mres and other used gear comes from the dumpsters/dump
we had the same thing in lebanon when i was there, lokal people searchin for
things from the garbage and sold it on the market.
the soldiers throw away a lot of things in the garbage,we used to
search dumpsters in norway to afther exersices and found gold many times
Loads off stuff, like the worn off boots are simply discarded and thrown into dumpsters.
These days though, some Dutch forces choose to burn their items (uniform clothing, boots, gear) to prevend it to be used against them. This might be a good thing for others aswell..
The MRE stuff lies all over the place, and gets given away by troops..
The western stuff like monster energy etc, can simply be bought (!) .. the black market is a precious thing in the middle east..
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
Also remember that a couple of convoys have been attacked in the Khyber Pass land route between Pakistan and Afhganistan so there may be a posibility that some of thos items might have been stolen from those supply convoys before they were burnt...
