Hi mw509. It's hard to say exactly when they start making the new year's menus - it seems to vary from year to year. In 2004 it was around July and in 2005 it seems to be around March-April. I say March/April because I have a case from January 2005 that had the 2004 menus and a case from April 2005 that had the 2005 menus. I also read another message somewhere here in the forums from someone with a February 2005 case that had the 2004 menus in it.
It always tough trying to buy a case of the new menus. I usually end up waiting until I can find an August or later case or until I can find someone who can verify what menus are in the case.

good to know. I actually didn't buy a whole case but bought quite quite a few from the same seller. I decided to take all the MRE's out of there outer brown bag and put them into a zip lock bag. Anyway while doing this I thoguht it was a bad batch because they didn't seem to have the usual side dish. Well I looked up the menus and I guess menus from the past few years don't have the usual side dishes like wetpack fruit. However I realized even though all were dated from 2005 my one menu was a 2004. So I guess they all were technically menu 2004 but made in 2005.
I am pretty happy though with them ditching the wet fruit. I always thought it tasted off.
