Well, if you come over here I`ll be more than happy to share some "jambalaya" or "vegetable manicoty" with you // Pues nada, tio. Si vienes por aquí dímelo y nos comemos un "jambalaya" y un "manicoti vegetal"saladp wrote:luis0449 wrote:So, I`ve got 72 MREs, and I guess two a day would be more than enough.
It would mean I can survive one month, but with no water and no fresh fruit I`m sure I wouldn`t last that long. Well... I must confess I have somewhere hidden in the basement several bottles of spanish red wine (the one known as "tintorro"), a bottle of Cardhu Whisky, another of coffe liquor and a few bottles of "Becherovka" which is a drink in Spain is just impossible to find but these drinks wouldn`t be of much help in case of an emergency.
72 mre's together? in Spain? Luis0449 now are my new idol ..![]()
if you know the secret of getting reasonably priced mre'sa shipping costs and want to share the secret make me happy:)
and you forgot that you will have reserves of these "morcillas" and "chorizos" so good that you have in your land![]()
I could survive only about 3 days rations, or 1 week with the 12 MRE's that I arrived last week, but may have to return them to have an open case on ebay with the buyer (the notice of sale was 24 mre 's only sent me 12)
so if necessary we will take the motorway to Burgos ...
how long could you live from YOUR rations you have?

Message to saladp: I forgot to tell you. Sometimes spanish people find it hard to find out how the flameless heater work. In a week or two (I`m pretty busy these days, I`m afraid. Well, the truth is that I`m always busy
) I`ll put a video on youtube and obviously here.
Mensaje para saladp: españoles me han preguntado mas de una vez como se calientan estas raciones. Dentro de una semana o dos (que no sé cuando porque tengo mucho jaleo) pondré un video en youtube y aqui, claro explicando como se calientan estas raciones.
All the best / Hasta otra

Seeing what's going on here in the Uk at the mo... I've got about 3/4 of a case of Biscuits Brown, 15 Look What We Found meals - and got a 3-day emergency water supply in the Tesco order due to get to me on Saturday...
Also ordered 3-in-1 packs - now maybe I ought to order some beverage bags or one of those unitised things so I can still have coffee...
Am seriously thinking about ordering a few FRHs in case power is lost (but haven't had any issues so far).
But it is getting close to SHTF conditions.

Not to mention all those footie matches being cancelled!! That qualifies as SHTF as far as I am concerned!!
Seriously, hope it doesn't get any worse for ya over there.

Its only -3C in my area now and will drop down to about -10C at night, the snow we have had just freezes and turns to ice then more snow, more ice, see the pattern forming? lots of ice
the main roads are ok, pavements/sidewalks are not that good.
In the store where I work people are going mad panic buying, theres no bread, milk, potatoes, eggs there now.
I'm fine, I have 7 british 27 hour packs now and a box of mixed MRE, EPA, Dutch and British items. 10 Litres of Water So I should be fine, If the worst comes to the worst my parents normally keep the cupboards pretty well stocked. They have that I have the rations
My mother who is diabetic has got extra insulin just incase and its supposed to snow even more this weekend
When I was in Germany for New Years 08/09 they have more snow than my area and life carried on as normal, Britian just cant cope with it.

Re: how long could you live from YOUR rations you have?

This is about half of my SHTF stash, the pic is a few years old. Lots more steaks, pork chops, chicken, and a bunch from the local LDS food cannery. I have an almost complete bunker/root cellar on my property up state now, so when the weather warms up I will finish it and all of this goes up there. It's a 3 hour drive, took all summer to build.
I highly recommend the LDS canneries if yours will allow non-members to come. Good people, and they didn't push Mormonism on me at all.
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for the rest of the night. *SET* a man on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life!
