My lunch typically includes some FSR or MRE items, so I thought I would take snaps in case anyone was interested.
Italian Style FSR sandwich made by Bridgford in Statesville North Carolina.
Available for $2.89 plus shipping at "The Epicenter", and for $2.99 plus shipping at "Meyers Custom Supply" (must order the 5 pack).
I think this might be the best of the 5 sandwich options, IMHO.
I typically nuke the sandwich for 30 seconds on each side at 50% power. Sandwich comes out nice and warm but not smoking hot.
Today, I had some cheddar cheeze pretzels to go along with the sandwich, made by Ameriqual in Evansville, Indiana.
They were nice and lightly crunchy, but the cheeze flavor was very subtle, not "cheezey" enough for me.
I also had some sliced cranberries, made by Wornick Company in McAllen Texas.
These were very good, IMHO. Not much to look at but very good taste. The texture was similar to the raisins, but without any "chemical" smell or taste.
For the record, I don't mind the raisins that much. I just let them air out a bit before I eat them.
But Wait! There's more! Also snacked on some Molasses Cookies later in the day, made by the Wornick Company in McAllen Texas.
These are possibly my LEAST favorite MRE cookie, and seemed a bit stale. If you like Molasses or ginger cookies, you might like them.
Finally, I tried some "Choclettos". These are firm but chewable. Sort of like a chocolate "Now or Later".
It actually reminds me of the chocolate candy we get across the border in Mexico, which is more stable in the heat.
I don't normally eat this many MRE items in one day, but these were lying around after my weekend camping trip so I decided to grab them this morning.

Yes sir, they are! I only had the two loose ones today.
I will bring in the outer pack from another batch I have.
Some MRE's have various candies in them, such as these choclettos, tootsie rolls, and cinnomins.

Re: Today's Lunch
Here is the pouch containing the choclettos. Only 5 pieces per pouch. Manufactured by Sopakco in Mullins, South Carolina. Sopakco also make the Toffee Rolls. Tried the Strawberry Toaster Pastry this morning, manufactured by Ameriqual in Evansville, Indiana. Kind of dry and contained less filling than the standard Pop Tart.German_EPA wrote:interesting... i have many tootsie rolls but never saw any of this chocolate cubes.
