MCI review 1977 dated

Post by PanzerDivision666 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 5:54 pm

I went to Knob Creek this last October, and lo and behold, I found MCIs for sale. I bought the following: Two B-2 and three B-3 cans, and....(drumroll,please...)a can of poundcake, dated 1977, exactly 32 years old, and I'm 33...anyways, when I got home, i fired up a fattie and decided to plunge in and do a full taste test of these components and see if it would kill me. I opened the can of hot cocoa and crackers. The hot cocoa was delicious...nice and thick, i mixed it with boiling water. the crackers sucked. Ugh. Stale as disco, man. I opened two cans that had candy. the fudge disc and the vanilla fudge disc were awesome. No off taste whatsoever. Reminded me of the candy they used to put in the first couple runs of MREs. The crackers weree much better tasting. i think this is because of the candy's oils and so on... I saved the poundcake for last, knowing full well that the odds of me bagging Miranda Lambert were better than the odds of finding another rare treasure such as this. i opened the can from the bottom. i removed the metal and I was greeted by an aroma that was just... yummy. Out popped my little cupcake, and there it was. I took a cautious nibble, just enough to taste it. Sure I was safe, i devoured half of it in one bite. best damned dessert ever made. This year, i'm going to get more MCIs, and if i find one that is decent looking, I'm gonna attempt to a THOUROUGH taste test...
