the mystery of imputrescible paté

Post by Stef »

Hi,
if you remember one month and two days ago, I've opened a "Rindfleischlyoner " can from a German EPA. That paté smelt bad, like rancid oil so I didn't eat it.
Well, in fact I didn't throw it into the rubbish bin but in a corner of my garden for the wild animals.
Now, I go to that place, I see a pink "thing" in the grass, is it a mushroom?
NO!!!! the incredible German paté is still there, first it did not decompose and amongst the foxes, weasels, magpies, blackbirds, crows... which frequent my garden no one dared eat that strange stuff
Can you believe that?

WTF do they put in that paté!? :|

seriously? I had two of those Rindfleischlyoner paté cans that smelt rancid in the same EPA III (2003) case, one cherry jam can was leaking but still good, the rest was OK.

A picture, well, there's not much to see but why not?
I f you have an old Rindfleischlyoner can and a garden with wild animals you can try an experiment

Sure it is! :?
BTW, the paté was still there 5 mm ago
I'ts really strange, when a pear falls from a tree or when some crumbs drop from my kid's sandwich, 1mn later it's all covered with ants, the birds are fighting to have it first, and in every case there's nothing left 1h later.

I don't know but I'm not going to waste a ration that's still edible for that, even if it's in the name of Science
