Hey Guys,

This is a little idea I have been working on for nearly 2 months, its almost finished, it just needs a few finishing touches; shape the beret more, wash and press the uniform, stuff to fill pouches with... magazines + rounds and canteen. Need to get rid of the beard too

Its an Early 1970's British Uniform (around 1972/73) from the Northern Ireland troubles. The Cap badge is of my Grandfathers regiment, the Royal Artiliery. He served there in 1969/70, my uniform is later but easy enough to adjust, change the DPM jacket for OD and M69 vest for an US M52. (I just need to buy those too

Its not the best picture in the world, it would seem to be the British Monsoon season... its rained nearly everyday for a month So I cant take pics outside. Once the weather is nicer, I'll get some pics outside.

It's all nice to put complete sets together, I'm currently making a ISAF row.. (Dutch, German, British and US)
The Dutch and German are almost finished, but I had to stop the project because a lack of funds.. (Í have the money, but my girlfriend would probably bury me alive) She doesn't want me to spend any more money on it


It's nice to see that people are looking for something different now, because I have to agree with buttentee.
I respect everyone for what he does, but the US stuff came across my eyes to many times


A mate is currently collecting Austrian and German world war one uniforms.. very strange.. very rare.. and because of that.. quite expensive.. (most available stuff is in museums that don't want to sell a thing)

Norge, A medium is a little small for me, if I can manage to lose the some weight I'll PM you.

This is just something different, Northern Ireland is still a touchy subject here but its a part of history.

I got to say the gear is different to modern British stuff. The trousers are very close to ww2 style just in a different material. the undershirt is itchy as hell. The jackets and trousers are heavily lined and weigh quite a lot... a reminder of Korea and the freezing cold there. The boots are exactly the same as ww2 just with molded rubber soles instead of hobnails.... not much progression in just over 30 years.

Normally the only American gear I see is ACU and WW2 (Airsoft and reenacting) I like seeing the Cold War American gear as its not somthing I've seen before. Those who grew up in Europe in the Cold war would have seen them quite a lot.

We allways had GI´s around here. We grew up with them and I allways liked them. Woodland camo in our streets was as normal as a a street light. We had especially medac forms for US members, also have been at US Army Hospital and Snack Bar there...

I´m sorry all US installations over here are closed. The barracks, the Air Field...

I need a kevlar helmet (forbidden to export thats why they are so expensive around here),
body armor (the ballisticplates are forbidden aswell, but I don't really care so much about the plates themselve, i can replace them with wooden plates or something) and the right patches (unit and name etc..)

But I really can't buy anything, because my girlfriend is already trying to kill me as it is..

the 52 vest have ajustable sides,just like shoe laces.

Nope in Desert.. but I'll have to waite with buying, first my vacation next week, then some investing in the car etc.. and then maybe some collectibles...

Spending €100 on rations and military gear is INSANE.. (We can't afford that..!)
Spending €500 on make up, clothing and shoes.. means "you need those things.. "
