Unknown UK Ration

Post by housil » Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:29 pm

Today I got from an Ebay auction an unknown (to me) probably UK, freeze dried ration. Maybe some "arctic" or "RCW"?

Mixing instruction - but for what?!?! What will I get after mixing with 170ml of hot water?! Coffee? Stock drink? Sauce? Tea?

Note: 400g (0,88lb) of fruit cake!

Have you ever seen that UK (?) ration before?

It looks pretty new based on some of those date codes - but it is kind of odd seeing those canned items in a "new" ration.

I'd love to be a knight in shining armour and have the answer.... I don't... never seen anything like that.

The canned cake is similar to the spotted dick posted in the weird foods thread, its about the same. Slighty different recipe.

Housil,

When you purchased this, where did it ship from? UK, Germany, France.....? That might clue us in or give us some idea. I would maybe venture a guess as this might be a proto type or an early version of the Pack N Go meals that Gaz descibed on ArmyRations.UK? :o

Treesuite, all the different PD dates from 2003 to 2007 in a single ration, I guees you are close to it. It´s either a prototype OR a homemade...

But the entrees and the can are still new (= never seen before) to me
