Shock-A-Lots

Post by DangerousDave » Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:29 pm

I found a bag of these in 2008 packed Chicken&Dumplings. I wonder if anyone knows where to by them commercially, for a decent price. From what I can find, only available at crazy high prices. Made in San Fran, I think. I threw the bag away, like a dumbass, before I realized how much I like them. I found them at Amazon, couple other places, priced out of the ball park. :?: I got a nick-name for them. "M&M's on steroids".
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!

I love those things! I've had chocolate-covered coffee beans before but these are great because they have a hard candy shell around them like M&Ms. Before, if I were to leave a bag of the regular choco-coffee beans in my car in the summer, they'd be a melted mess after one day. But with the Shock-a-lots, as long as that candy shell is intact, they won't melt away.

I was able to pick up a bunch from TheEpicenter:

Look about 2/3 of the way down the page. They're only sold in 12-packs and they cost $19.08. They might be a little pricey but if you just throw them in with an order for a bunch of FSR sandwiches, it's not so bad. :-)

Well, they showed up yesterday. Very fast shipping, arrived in top notch shape. Looks like they recently underwent a packaging change though. The ones that came in my MRE were in a Yellow / Red package. Now they are burnt orange and yellow. Candies are the same though. Bright yellow hard candy shell, sweet dense chocolate and dark rich bean.
