:D I can't recall ever seeing Fruit dumplings and custard in the store I work in,

Thats quite a creation Stef, I think I will pass if I ever see that for sale. The Onions and cheesy bread sounds ok, so does the first but together  :D

Housil, I'll see if I have a Fruit Dumplings and custard back home in my little store on Thursday (I'm away at University until then), if I do its yours.

08/04 - means this ration was packed in august 2004.

the items inside can be a little bit older. for example: 01/05 ration - items can be also from 2004.

First of all - welcome to forums товарищ

Usally our mil rations don´t have an(y) expiring date, just a manufacturing or packing date

The Brits say´s:

Image
e.g. 09/01 (Sep/2001) on outer case

Image
same on single rations

Image
Different way of dating 9/1 or 09/01

Image
At package inside the exactly date of e.g. 18/12/01 (in a 09/01 packed box?! )

You got robbed...

You don´t have to boil it, every mil-ration can be eaten cold - excapt freeze dried. But (I guess) we all would to recommand you to "warm" it up!
