German Travelunch entrees, British "July, 4th " matches, Aussie FRED, it seems that the Slovenian Army ration service is very aware of what kind of interesting items some can find all over the planet.
But there's no "Biscuits Brown"

Looks like Slovenia may be modernizing or updating their ration pack.

The Slovenian MoD recently decided to include retort-pouched, ready-to-eat self heating meals in their version of the 24 hour military ration pack. They selected

Until recently, canned and dried foods were a routine part of the Slovenian ration pack. Now they will be supplemented with Canland UK's Action Pack entrees with its "unique and odourless" Non-Magnesium Flameless Ration Heater. An initial order was sent to Slovenia in early October 2007, to be packed into military rations, with another order sent in April of this year.

Retort pouched meals are increasingly being included in military ration packs and self heating meals around the world, because they offer an excellent and reliable way of providing compact, good quality and tasty, ready to eat meals. They meet stringent tests from MoD customers, including the British and the packaging is very robust to avoid bursting and breakage during transportation. The food ingredients are vacuum sealed inside an aluminium, laminated pouch, which is then heat treated to ensure the food is totally sterile.

This then provides a long shelf life of three years or more, from production (BB Date). To make things even more convenient, Canland's Non Magnesium Flameless Ration Heater® will heat the meal (unopened) to around 75 degrees centigrade in 10-12 minutes, just by adding a small amount of water to the chemical mixture inside the bag, which initiates an exothermic reaction. Unlike older magnesium containing flameless heaters, Canland's version does not emit an unpleasant odour when activated. This is extremely important to the user's comfort, but especially to soldiers in action or in training.
