Marine SK(Survival Kit) Gulf War 1 era.

Post by DangerousDave »

I bought a couple of these from CTD.I Cut 1 open, to see what was inside. It's a 2 pc. attached kit, packed in heavy canvas/foil wrapper. Interesting peice of history. Theres a website by Don Rearic with more info, under USMC Force Recon Survival Kit. CTD has these for sale for 60 bucks. Everything in the kit I opened is usable.

Cheaper Than Dirt. Used to be a place for good deals. Since the election, dirt must have gone up in price.

Yea, Cheaper Than Dirt has really sucked, past couple years, I'll admit. They still send me their crappy catalogs. This item, however, was a jem. I think they still have some left. Since they are located in Texas, maybe George Bush will take over, and make it a profitable company. 8)

There catalog switched over to a newspaper like paper. Those little emergency fishing kits seem pretty cool. I think CTD is the only place to find those kits.

Heck yeah,

Those survial kits are totally awesome. When I was still in the Marines, I managed to trade for one back at Camp Lejuene in 1994. Thought it would come in handy. Never did use it, :( When I moved out west it disappeared. Question is are they still in stock at CTD?

Are you saying you found them for $60? Do you have a link to the site?

I also found these links while searching around:

Lots of pictures
