For me, a meet up like that in such a far off place such as Japan is shocking. The fact that Japanese people would be interested enough to organize meet ups is just strange and disappointing that really anyone else interested in military rations is spread around the globe and not centralized in one place.

What is it with Japan and rations, theres quite a few of those picture websites around.
Thats the sad thing, a whole MREInfo meeting would be impossible as it would cost too much and be a logistcal nightmare, looking at the members map the European members are pretty spread out from Ak70g2 in Romania in the East, Norge in the North, Spuknik in the South West in Spain and GF3006 in the south in Italy (directions taken from from the middle of Gemany as its pretty Central)

The Japanese tend to go all out on their hobbies, and many people have hobbies that would sound strange to people in most other countries. Like chimes that get played at the stations on a certain segment of a train line, or trying out rations from every nation that makes them.

To be sure, Japanese people are eager for this hobby.
Many books of ration are published in Japan.
The article of ration is serialized in the military magazine.
