Long Life Food Depot
Long Life Food Depot
I just ran across this site. Their prices are pretty much the same as other civilian MRE producers at $75 for a 12 meal case without heaters and $82 for a 12 meal case with heaters. From what I can find those prices also include shipping too so that's actually pretty good when other civilian MREs are selling for that much alone. Another thing I realized after searching everywhere on their website is that you pick what will be in your MREs when you order. That's something that I don't see other MRE producers offering and there selection is pretty good, but I wish they had more beverage choices besides water and strawberry dairy shake.

We've talked about LongLifeFoods a number of times around here. Check out the search function and search for "longlifefood" or "mailordercentral" so see some of the threads. Here's one where a couple of us talk about why we do and don't like LLF (we start talking about their MREs after the spoon discussion):

As for being able to pick out what will be in your MREs, where do you see that? I selected a case of their MREs, put it in my cart, and tried to check out - but was never asked what I wanted the MREs to be. Check out that thread above where jfko6 received an email from they saying they just put whatever entrees they have on-hand in the MREs.
To recap just a little, I'm not a fan of their MREs - mainly because they're practically the same price but you only get a mystery selection of items. If they were to sell their MREs for $40/case, it'd be a different story. But for $75, even with free shipping, I'll buy aPacks and Sure-Paks.

You're right. On their About MRE page, they tell your right there what you can buy.kman wrote:We've talked about LongLifeFoods a number of times around here. You can buy the individual components, their put together kits, or the mystery meat(MREs for which there are no menus anywhere on their site for). That's the reason I thought they let you pick whats going to be in your MRE, that and my ignorance. We allow YOU to make the decision to buy individual components or pre-made kits like the 72 Hour Emergency Kits or the MRE Full Meals.
Re: Long Life Food Depot
I wouldn't call it ignorance - just a confusing website and selection of products on their part.
