New Swedish Ration

Post by Zizka » Tue Jan 13, 2009 6:39 pm

Swedish Defence forces is introducing a new ration instead of the Norwegian one.
Main reason is moneysaving.
A Norwegian cost 250 skr (skr = Swedish Kronor) and the new will cost 205 skr.

There will be 14 maincourses and 7 Breakfasts (no pork)
Manufacturer is "Cambells soup of Sweden"

A 24hr rationpack contains:
3 bags of freeezedried food
3 Chocolaterolls
1 Bag of soft candy
2 Vitargo Energybars
2 V6 Chewing gums
2 Small bags of raisins

Checking military forums in Sweden there has been some mixed feelings about this new ration.
Less energy, not enough drinks etc.

As soon as i can get my hands of a complete ration, I post a review.
Until then I can post some pics showing the maincourse.

best regards/Zizka

There is a civilian version produced by the company "Blå band" (english = Blue Band) in Sweden.
These you have to boil for about 10-15 minutes before eating them.
With the new generation of freeze-dried food cooking this is no longer an option for me when out on a walk.
You have to do the dishes after eating and a much higher fuel-consumption on your kitchen.
