Looking to buy newer foreign MREs.

Post by Cascade Man » Sun Jan 04, 2009 11:38 pm

Hi all,

I am new here. I am a longtime "Rationista" but have only had US MREs. I am looking to try to buy foreign ones to try out. I live in the Seattle area and the Canadian rations would probably be the easiest to get ahold of. There used to be a surplus store in Bremerton that sold Canadian rations but, the went under a few years ago. I now that my best bet is most likely outside the US. I have been told that the rations themselves aren't too expensive, but the shipping usually is. If readers could point me in the right direction with reliable foreign or domestic contacts and links, I would be extremely greatful.

Thanks,
Cascade Man

Hello and Happy New Year at MRE Forums :D
Shipping from e.g. Germany to US is "an arm and lag".
10 kg = €22
20 kg = €32
but less expanisive than vice versa

Casacade Man,

Hello and Welcome to the forums. If you stick around long enough you might find some of the forum members here are pretty good at pointing out good deals and maybe offer up a one-for one trade with you. Right now I don't know of any surplus stores on the Interstate 5 corridor that would sell foreign rations and "yes" shipping from Europe is alot but sometimes worth it. If you can get aline on Candian rations with no problem let us all know, some of us are looking for some without cleaning out our bank accounts, if you know what I mean. If you want just PM me here on the forum.....I'm in your area of operations.

The (only 2) represents that I have only 2 of the EPA meals. As for pictures I have some of most of them and can shoot the others. Attached are FOUR of them. I have others and will post later.

Thx for your first pics!!! :D

Pictures are great allways!
Nice to see Frenchs are using in their commando rations German Reiter Travellunch, same as in (1st and 2nd generation) EPa leicht, just different labeling and language.

Housil. I was surprised to see that in the ration myself. I always thought the French did everthing right??????? But they got smart I guess and found good freeze dried packs from Germany. The other pack in the ration looks to be an off the shelf French made freeze dried meal. I have not eaten one but have one to try.

If I got all my rations out my wife would have a SH-T fit. She says I spend to much money on junk as she calls it. I showed her pictures of your collection and she just shook her head and walked away saying he is crazier than you are, bet he isn't married but I assured her you was and your wife and you dined on rations frequently. She has no sence of humor! LOL

ATTACHED ARE SOME MORE RATION PIC'S.

Mrs. Housil loves CCC and all other "hot & spicy" MRE-stuff. :D

JUNK
She used that ugly word?!?! :( junk... she called it junk...

Once I want to have such a Australien one :D

The taste of the Norwegian entrees is for freeze dried pretty good! Much more better than Reiter Travellunch :P

Housil, Yes she used the nasty word JUNK :x but I told her one mans junk is another mans treasure. If she had any idea what I have invested in all my rations she would divorce me in a heart beat!!!! or maybe kill me and sell them

I have a friend in Australia and he is trying to get me some Australian rations but says that the Australian government is so strict on the control of their rations it is next to impossiable for him to aquire them from the military let alone any civilian avenues. I have some web sites that sell what they call 12 man pack rations (12 meals to a case) but in reading the contents of the packs they lack a second meal, they have breakfast items, dinner items but the lunch is more of a snack with no main meal pack or can. I have email them and ask for a clarification but as yet no reply.
