Well.... here's what I have:

Front
hooah-1.jpg
Back
(and the labels are simple color-laser-printed labels glued to the sealed package, not the finished product, it would seem.)
hooah-2.jpg
Here's the actual bar.
hooah-3.jpg
It's dense, chewy, and has a nice bit of crunch supplied by the crisped rice. Nice peanut butter flavor, too!

Big Boy,
Well, Cpt Bob's photo is kind of similar to what I was refering too. The ones I saw back then were the same texture and size of the Hershey's Powerbar but I just remember the bars coming in two flavours. The chocolate which was overpowering and kind of sickening to your stomach and the carmel bar sort of like the one pictured. The front lable was still the same but their was no back label and the size had that zig zag pattern so your could rip of a side of a pouch to eat it.

I've seen some new bars at http://www.beprepared.com (emergency essentials), but dont know if they are the same thing like the Hooah Bar? They are called New Millennium Food Bars, last up to 5 years and 400 calories of energy for about $ 1.10 each. Mainstay bars dont taste too bad - kinda like a shortbreat cookie, but I think the Millennium and Hooah bars are made more to the tasting than Mainstay or Datrex. I am also going to Sam's club this week to see what kind of bars they have there and life of them. I've seen something there by the sports pills and meds. If you shop at Costco - which I dont have membership, I have seen some survival 5 gallon bucket with items in it, but not exactly sure whats in it.

Hooah bars are commercially available; I've seen them in both WalMart and the local commissary. The Boy Scouts also selected them as part of the trail rations used at Philmont Scout Ranch. Scouts will receive a Hooah bar as part of their breakfast for 3 out of 10 days.

As I remember (2007) they were dense and chewy.
"I think," said Christopher Robin, "that we ought to eat all our Provisions now, so that we shan't have so much to carry."
