UGR

Post by laughing_man » Tue Oct 07, 2008 10:43 am

A lot of UGR is sold at the surplus shop in Tokyo.
http://www.tokyocarol.com/ugrration.htm

These UGRs were manufactured in 2007.
I go to this store this week.
However, I will not buy it, because 50 meals is contained in one-set UGR.
I may buy the waffle or the cake sold in separate parts.

If I ever get to Tokyo, I'll be sure to go visit TokyoCarol - that shop seems to be the #1 rations shop anywhere in the world.

I went to the Tokyo Carol today.
It is 8 minutes' walk from my house to the shop.

One set consists of three boxes.
Those boxes are very large and very heavy.
The menu of a Dinner 01 and a Dinner 03 is sold.

I bought "CREAM GRAVY WITH PORK PATTY CRUMBLES ARTIFICIALLY WHITENED" and "DEVIL,S FUDGE CAKE with WHITE ICING".

The cream gravy with pork patty crumbles should be served on American style biscuits. Savory biscuits, not what the English or Australians would call biscuits. It could also be served over toasted white bread or chicken fried steak.

Leave it to an accurate description of factory gravy to make it sound disgusting.

I've always considered white gravy to be something I wouldn't try to get foreigners to eat. Not quite sure they would get it.

One set consists of three boxes.
Note that it is 19,800 yen with one box.
The shipping cost to Germany is as follows.

EMS:
http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/charge ... s3_en.html

The other means:
http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/charge ... l3_en.html

I thought that one box was heavier than 10kg.

I have plenty of UGR's ....cakes, and different variations of "mystery meat" and gravy.....

The scrambled eggs n' sausage looks woird but edible in case of an emergency.

Housil un die deutsche kamaraden....ACHTUNG!!! Check them on ebay. Some of them run cheap in quantities.....

Although S/H....the silent assassin!!!!

Peace!
