tokyo carol

Post by doggar » Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:31 pm

Hi, well I went to Tokyo Carol when i got my first mres ever- a few years ago, and I bought 2 single rations for about 10 dollars US. I had no idea that they were past due date, but I ate them and enjoyed them. After that I started ordering them from the US on ebay. That shop gets boxes of rations occasionallyl but not a lot, and if they are not past due date, they sell them for upwards of 100-150 dollars per box. So-- quite a money maker, if you can get mres here in Japan.
Haven't gone back to see the tshirts, maybe I'll do that later.

the shop is mainly sells military surplus items. Including german nazi uniforms, which some kids like to wear. a bit sick if you ask me hehe.

I was thinking about wearing an SS uniform for Halloween! Wouldn't that go over well, when I stop by the Jewish Cultural Center and say....ACHTUNG JUDEN! Er...HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROELEIN?

Hi Kyle. No...no luck yet. The ball is kind of in my court right now. I have to find a non-ameriqual MRE bag. I thought I had a bunch but they all turned out to be Ameriquals with that damn repeating pattern and not the standard MRE bag design.

Here's what I mean:

Ameriqual on the left, all others on the right.

Thanks for the offer, kyle. I just checked, and it looks like I have a semi-open case of Sopakco's so I should be able to get one out of there.

Hi guys. Here's a question for you. I'm pretty sure I have two cases (A&B) of Sopakco MREs with the good bag design. If I can get the bag scanned in, which menu would you think is the best one to have on a t-shirt? Here are the choices:

01 - Beef Steak w/Mushroom Gravy
02 - Pork Rib
03 - Beef Ravioli
04 - Country Captain Chicken
05 - Grilled Chicken Breast
06 - Chicken w/Thai Sauce
07 - Chicken w/Salsa
08 - Beef Patty
09 - Beef Stew
10 - Chili w/Macaroni
11 - Pasta w/Vegetables
12 - Veggie Burger w/BBQ Sauce
13 - Cheese Tortellini
14 - Manicotti w/Vegetables
15 - Beef Enchiladas
16 - Chicken w/Noodles
17 - Beef Teriyaki
18 - Cajun Rice, Beans & Sausage
19 - Roast Beef w/Vegetables
20 - Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce
21 - Chicken Tetrazzini
22 - Jambalaya
23 - Chicken w/Cavetelli
24 - Meatloaf w/Gravy

My first thought was Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce because that just seems like the typical MRE but I'm open to suggestions.

Isn’t it obvious? The ever popular country captain chicken.
