Where are the MREs Date Packed 2006???

Post by mreheater72 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 11:47 am

Hi guys,

in Germany you can buy MREs Date Packed 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007. But I have never seen a case of MREs Date Packed 2006 :? :? !!

Do anyone know the reason for that :?: :?: ?

I don't have the answer, but I have a guess.

After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, I think the US Govt. started seriously stocking up on MREs both for the effort in Iraq/Afghanistan and for emergency preparedness. I'm guessing there weren't as many production "overruns" or spare MRE cases from that year.

I have a few 2006 cases myself, but that was just sheer coincidence that I ran into them.

There seems to be alot of 2006 cases on EBay here in the states but, most of the 2006 cases that I've seen are water damaged for some reason

I have a couple cases as well......and I think I saw some with 2009 inspection dates on Ebay....those would be 06 packed.

I'm looking for some 2007 or 08 packed if anyone has a line on any
