Yes, the heater has very simple instructions on the package on how to use it, but as you pointed out, they were so hungry they just tore into it and ate it.

I saw a press conference by the President tonight, when it was originally aired I don't know, but he said that over 5,000,000 MREs were on their way to MS and the surrouding area. WOW!
I also saw a Coast Guard guy unloading four cases of MREs to what looked like two people only in a house...WOW! I bet for sure there are going to be one hell of a lot of MREs on ebay eventually.

Saw that too.
A total of 50 tons !!!! of Epa´s have been airlifted to the US.
The irony : Germany is airlifting supplies to the US It took us a while, but now its payback for the airlift to Berlin in 1948 !!!

The only thing i wonder about as far as mre's from down there is what about cases that were dropped into that bacteria soup in New Orleans? Maybe i'm just crazy, but who knows what those cardboard cases mighta soaked up... On a side note, there's some damn gutsy rescue workers, cops, and soldiers wading through that stuff to help people, kudos to them!

The death toll may well rise to 10,000 after all the people die from e-coli, hepatitis, etc well after the cleanup due to working in all of that toxic sludge.

That's a good point about any of the MRE cases that might have been dropped into the water - that cardboard is pretty heavy and will certainly soak up a ton of that stuff.
kyle - good luck with finding some MREs - you'll have to tell us how it works out!
