Peppermint???
Are you sure they weren't stored near the (leaky?)chewing-gum pack?

Hello
this situation with the smell of mint, its due to the chewing gum having such a strong smell, I opened my menu 6 RCIR and the smell of mint was overpowering.
Saying that the food in the RCIR is quite impressive, my RCIR had salmon&pasta(beautiful) and mackrel in catalan sauce as a starter(tasty-mixed with carrot&peppers).
The soup (chicken)was very nice, the other entree-chilli con carne was very tasty, just not spicy enough for me(more to French taste maybe?).
As for the caramel rice dessert? SACRE BLEAU!! TRES BIEN-delicious.
Sorry I didnt put up any pics I was too busy scoffing.
Next up menu deaux(2)-salmon with rice&veg, salmon pate, lamb tagine(yum). melted cheese dessert and fish soup.
Maube this time I'll put up some pics.

I agree.
Same why everything in your fridge smells for onions if you have half of an onion in...
I guess as the plastic is not 100% air proof, the "smell" diffuse throu it. But I also had some crackers with a soapy taste once. So I think the crackers have a different own, sometimes "strange", taste.

Hallo, we have the same problem with RCIR but the taste is not the same peppermint of the gums, is more similar to the pine/mint of the paper handkerchiefs and is very strong. This smell if particulary bad for a creacker!

Maybe you need some Mexican cheese spead to take out the minty taste?
