Dutch soldiers eating ...?

Post by bl00k » Thu Feb 21, 2008 7:29 pm

Here's a video of a reporter joining the dutch 'Air Assault Brigade' on a cold-weather-training. I saw them eating some pouches which i recognized but i can't remember the name.

Thta's right. at moment 4.56 you can read the name on the pouch.

The travellunch menus are part of the ROEK (Rantsoen onder extreme koude / extreme weather ration) rations, issued to troops on cold weather training (Marines, Special Forces and Air Assault).
The older version of the ROEK: 'Arctic ration' was issued till 2001. Up to then cold weather training was only done by the Royal Dutch Marines.

:D yellow snow :D

They use it since 2000 at the Bundeswehr as EPa leicht also.

See:

Date of manufacturing AND best before date.
Printing in English/French only

Bundeswehr (EPa leicht)

Date of manufacturing only! (but in four languages!)

See their full menue (in English) at:

They offer PINA COLADA "TRAVEL-COCKTAIL" approx. 0,2 l also

The taste of the entrees is a little bit "unspectacular" or boring - you will need some salt and others extra. But it´s pretty OK

The video is funny - this Dutch guys are... :D
Do you know they have coffee-shops, they don´t sale hot beverages there....

Yellow snow... :D :D :D

I traded Norge for one of those ROEK packs, very nice!!! I had the 'swedish Hot Pot', enough for two and quite good. :D
