The unfortunate irony is that of all the different foods that do move between countries, both within the EU and USA/EU, MREs and other western/Nato made rations are probably by far the safest food product around. I can buy butter from the UK, apples from Germany, tins of soup from France, anything, but I bet none of them are as well checked or quality controlled as an MRE/24h ration pack/EPA etc.

For one or two cases, people have been known to label them "camping supplies" and that's technically true...even though "military prepackaged food" would also be true but would also be more likely to get you and your packages stripped-searched. :-)
For the HDR shipment I got from the States, I asked the seller to write "camping ration" on the customes form.

When they had arrived, I got a note from the customes to come to their main office department...
I had to open the boxes for inspection and the officer was searching in a hugh "customes declaration folder" to find anything similar in his papers. It took almost an hour until he found something similar "Convenienced food w/ fresh milk..."

Not exactly the truth, but not illegal either

I kept the bill for the next shipment, but the Canadian IMPs made it straight thru the customes without any problems nor inspections...

Thank you very much, 'rats... And maybe it was, Stef, but was a quiet one...

I'd love to get all you guys in the same room together with a few cases of everbody's favorite beer. It would be a hoot....until the empty beer bottles started flying! :o

(who's with me in betting that `ak would take the liberty of throwing the first bottle?). Not to worry though......I & housil would bring our medical kits and patch everybody up! 8)

I think I'll sit quiet, open my mouth only to ask for another Corona six-pack. I'm very quiet man, I'd like to observe from long distances. And to interfering from time to time...

Good Job. Thats whats Chauchescu was all about, before the Romanian Army gave him and his Wife, the "Wall". Excellent sniper pic. We can use You, in the United States Army. Sign up!. You'll get 40K sign up bonus, but you will have to work for it. 8)
