User Housil has a Iltis Bombardier in a very fine condition !
if you want to have one similar you have to invest about 5000 euro and more.
housil´s iltis:
my bundeswehr car
my 181 or thing
also for the bug and the 181 the prices are around 3000 euro and more, miltary vehicles are very expensive in germany
bye

So, I think I'll look for a Land Rover Defender 110 pre2000, soft top...

Depends how much money you want to spend.
But I can´t recommand the Diesel if you want to buy an Iltis. You should prefer the Benzin engine. They didn´t "updated" the gear box from the benzin to the Diesel engine. So you need a higher rpm to get the same speed, but that´s the Diesel dead...
That´s me and my...
after 5 month in a professional body shop and almost €8000 later
You will get an unfixed Iltis for less (€2000-3500) but will need lots of work and spareparts
As I have no experience with a Landrover, please ask at:

Geez you guys have some nice military wheels! If i'm ever in Germany i'll really have to look you up... Of course the chances of me randomly going to Germany aren't that high, kind of expensive eh?
I've got a nice '70 beetle sitting in my back yard that i'm going to try to fix up this summer, if i have time. Body needs a lot of work but the car only has 26000 miles on it - barely broken in! If i do find time to work on it i'll have to take lots of pics.
