this is no question about MRE, maybe you can also help me
I got this cap from an friend and i am wondering for what this inside bag is ?
is this a original cap from us army, if yes, which decade ?

Strange there is no label with the maker's identification, NATO codes, washing instructions etc...

I know Stef, but it looks very original and i got it from a soldier, before he was going back to usa.
And otherwise i got non original caps with labels

Hi Rudi,
the "patrol caps" from the new ACU (Army Combat Uniform) are equipped with the same inner pocket. I think ist is used to carry papers or other flat things that doesn´t bother by wearing. But I haven´t seen a cap in woodland pattern with that pocket! It looks original (rank insignia SSG) but the dating without identification label (DLA-, SPO- or SPM-number) is not possible!
