So, lets face it. We all have an interest in various Militaria beyond rations. So I thought id toss out a fun little question.

Whats your favorite camoflauge pattern? (Civillian or military)

Me, even tho I don't have anything in it yet, i've always thought the British DPM was the best of all the different patterns. Dunno exactly what it is about it, but it just stands out to me.

Housil just sent me a BDU set of Flecktarn and I wore it a second time just yesterday. It has become my new pattern, before it my favorite was Lithuanian Woodland - but now after having the Flecktarn and the more convenient zipper fly opposed to buttons, and Velcro pockets instead of buttons, plus a better variety of colors and the general "cool factor" I say it is the best.

My top 5 camo patterns are:

1. German Flecktarn
2. Lithuanian Woodland
3. Vietnam Tigerstripe
4. British Desert DPM
5.Classic U.S. Olive Drab

:D

I should post some pictures of me in the awesome Flecktarn, and the neat Lithuanian Woodland. Cool patterns.

I'm having a hard time picking just one, so I'll follow Steve and give a list. I think my choices come down to:

1. German Flecktarn
2. The new US Muliticam
3. The old US "Woodland"

I'm not very familiar with the British DPM pattern that has been mentioned, so I'll have to read up on it.

It seems that I'm not alone in liking the German Flecktarn.
I'd love to have a tarp for my hammock in that pattern... And a hat... And a pair of pants...

I suspect in order to get anything close over here I'll have to settle for the US Scorpion. However, there is something more "animal pelt" satisfactory about the Flecktarn.

I always liked the Old US Woodland.

My list of favorites:

Old US Woodland
Vietnam Era Tiger Stripe
First Gulf War Desert Cam Pattern
ACU, I know about the only thing it blends into is gravel and grandma's old sofa, but I have found it can be useful when using a blended set of colors or camo patterns.
The New Multi-Cam
MarPat

I enjoy collecting camouflage and have done it since I was young.

I like so many different patterns but my all time favorites are the old Austrian 1958/59 pea or dot pattern. It looks very similar to German WW 2 camoflage
The 1950's Belgian brush stroke patterns this looks somewhat like the British WW 2 Denison smock
Last the Made in USA duck Hunter/Pacific type used from 1942 until the early 1990's. There are so many different color variations used by the military and civilian hunting suppliers it is amazing.
